Job summary

Kmart Group is seeking a Compliance and Optimisation Manager in Victoria for a 12-month fixed term contract. You will lead governance and continuous improvement of Profit Protection processes, identify risks, and drive practical actions across stores and support functions.

You’ll partner with Risk, Compliance, Technology, Legal and Merchandising to digitise stocktake workflows. Strong analytical, communication and Excel skills are essential, with experience in retail risk and change initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail operations, risk, compliance, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of retail processes and operational controls.
• Ability to assess risk, improve compliance and translate findings into practical business solutions.
• Experience leading projects or change initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with data-informed decision-making.
• Clear, confident communication across levels of leadership.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, charts).
• Profit Protection experience is beneficial, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance and continuous improvement of Profit Protection processes, policies and standards.
• Identify process gaps, operational risks and compliance issues, then coordinate practical corrective actions.
• Help establish and progress the roadmap for digitising stocktake processes.
• Own and maintain Profit Protection policies, incorporating investigation outcomes and changing business requirements.
• Partner with Merchandise teams to develop and implement merchandise protection standards.
• Support contract owners with privacy, contractual and operational compliance across supplier arrangements.
• Use store process metrics, shrink insights and reporting to guide decisions and prioritise improvement opportunities.
• Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to embed consistent, effective ways of working.
