Job summary

Benevolent Society in Campbelltown, NSW is seeking a Community Development Worker to foster initiatives that engage residents and strengthen local services. You will plan and lead community events, partner with organisations, and improve outcomes for clients while supporting data-driven program delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in community services, social work or similar.
• Five years community development experience or equivalent work history.
• Strong commitment to community development theory and practices.
• Understanding of risk and safety issues (e.g., DV, mental health, homelessness).
• Knowledge of diverse communities including CALD and LGBTIQ+.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to engage stakeholders and map community assets and needs.
• Improve service capacity by implementing and reviewing initiatives in the local area.
• Coach and coordinate community partners to access funding and ensure governance practices.
• Build extensive networks with community members, organisations and government bodies.
