Job summary

The Benevolent Society is seeking a Community Development Worker in Campbelltown. This role focuses on engaging residents, developing initiatives, and improving service capacity within the local community. You will partner with community organisations to advance outcomes for clients.

The role requires strong data skills (Excel, DEX Data Exchange) and experience working with diverse communities. Hybrid work options are available, with salary packaging and benefits to support wellbeing.

Qualifications

Degree qualification in community services, social work or similar.
Minimum five years community development experience or equivalent.
Excellent understanding of risk and safety issues (drugs, DV, mental health, homelessness).
Understanding of diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and CALD communities.

Responsibilities

Develop strategies to gather data and engage community stakeholders.
Improve local service capacity and opportunities through program planning.
Coordinate and support community partners to access funding and establish governance structures.
Build extensive community networks with stakeholders and agencies.
