Job summary

Officeworks is expanding its Commercial team and inviting applications for Assistant Category Manager across diverse product portfolios. You will support sales, pricing, promotions and supplier negotiations while developing category expertise in a fast-paced retail environment.

Working closely with Senior Category Manager and cross-functional teams, you will shape ranges, analyze trends and deliver measurable commercial outcomes, contributing to growth and customer-focused strategies across

Qualifications

• Experience in buying, category management or merchandise planning.
• Strong commercial curiosity and understanding of drivers of customer and business performance.
• Comfort with data and turning insights into recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive mindset and desire to build a career in category management.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial performance of your category across sales, margin, pricing and promotions.
• Analyse customer, market and trading insights to identify opportunities and make recommendations.
• Assist with range reviews, product launches and promotional activity.
• Build strong supplier relationships and support commercial negotiations and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Planning, Marketing, Inventory, Finance and Operations to deliver category plans.
• Monitor category performance and drive actions to improve results.
