Job summary

BGIS seeks an experienced Assistant Accountant for a South-East Melbourne-based role, reporting to the Finance Manager. You will oversee accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, claim validation, reconciliations and month-end reporting, partnering with operational teams and client representatives to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The successful candidate will be collaborative, analytical, detail-oriented and committed to timely, high-quality financial outcomes within a newly established contract

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Min five years in an Assistant Accountant or equivalent role.
• Experience with month-end reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and cashflow processes.
• CPA/CA membership or progress is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, forecasting and budgeting activities for accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable, receivable and cash collection activities.
• Monitor data integrity and ensure compliance with financial controls and governance.
• Provide financial analyses, reports and variance commentary for management.
• Support internal and external audits and broader finance compliance.
