Job summary

The Federal Government Agency is seeking an APS6 Service Designer to design and improve participant-focused services for Australians living with disability. The role combines research, co-design and innovation to deliver better outcomes.

You will work in a hybrid setup across Sydney and other locations, with a 12-month contract and an hourly rate of around $60.26 AUD plus super, and potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Experience in human-centred design and gathering insights to inform service improvements.
• Strong facilitation and co-design skills for workshops with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability in service design, journey mapping and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building across multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical thinker focused on practical, participant-centred solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and gather user insights to understand needs and translate findings into service improvements.
• Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions to develop and test future service experiences.
• Map current and future state service journeys and identify opportunities to improve end-to-end experiences.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gain insights and support delivery outcomes.
• Contribute to service design strategies that align with agency priorities and Digital Service Standards.
