Job summary

Hays is partnering with a globally recognised organisation in Australia to recruit an Accounts Payable Officer. You will join a collaborative finance team, handle high-volume AP processing, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in supplier payments aligned with controls and procedures.

This full-time role offers hybrid flexibility and exposure to supplier invoices, settlements, and reconciliations, with an emphasis on attention to detail and proactive stakeholder management across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable, Settlements or similar transactional finance roles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes accurately.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle exposure is highly regarded.
• Intermediate Excel skills for reconciliations and data analysis.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
• Proactive attitude and commitment to delivering accurate, timely outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume supplier invoices, purchase orders and employee expense claims.
• Prepare and process consignor settlement statements following auction closures.
• Manage supplier payments, EFTs, BPAY transactions and corporate credit card reconciliations.
• Process profit share settlements, inventory purchase disbursements and approved financial advances.
• Investigate payment discrepancies and resolve invoice and settlement queries.
• Maintain supplier and consignor banking information and ensure compliance with approval processes.
• Complete month-end reconciliations, including AP sub-ledger, bank and trust account reconciliations.
• Support audit requirements and maintain adherence to internal financial controls.
