Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and commissioning commercial and industrial HVAC and cooling systems.
• End-to-end commissioning of precision cooling equipment and large chillers.
• L2–L4 commissioning activities on major projects.
• Diagnosing faults and performing service and maintenance work.
• Work with CRAC, CRAH, Fan Wall Units, Coolant Distribution Units and other critical cooling infrastructure.
• Interact with HVAC controls and networking systems.
• Prepare commissioning/service reports within required timeframes.
• Communicate project progress and site requirements.
• Build relationships with customers, contractors and project teams.
• Travel between customer sites, including overnight travel.

HVAC Technicians / Refrigeration Mechanics

Ayme Staffing is partnering with a leading provider of critical infrastructure solutions to recruit experienced HVAC Service & Commissioning Technicians for opportunities across Melbourne.

We’re seeking technicians from HVAC, air conditioning, refrigeration, chiller and precision cooling backgrounds for several positions spanning field service, maintenance and commissioning. These roles support sophisticated cooling infrastructure across data centres, commercial and industrial environments.

Whether your experience is predominantly in service and maintenance, commissioning precision cooling equipment, or working with large-scale chiller systems, we’re interested in speaking with experienced technicians looking to take the next step in their career.

About the Roles

Depending on your experience and technical background, your responsibilities may include:

Servicing, maintaining and commissioning commercial and industrial HVAC and cooling systems

Completing end-to-end commissioning of precision cooling equipment and/or large industrial chiller systems

Undertaking L2, L3 and L4 commissioning activities on major projects

Diagnosing faults and completing service and maintenance works

Working across CRAC, CRAH, Fan Wall Units, Coolant Distribution Units and other critical cooling infrastructure

Working with HVAC controls, networking and associated mechanical systems

Completing commissioning, service and field reports within required timeframes

Communicating project progress, technical issues and site requirements

Building professional relationships with customers, contractors and project teams

Working safely around energised electrical equipment, refrigerant lines and pressure vessels

Supporting preventative maintenance, breakdown and additional service works as required

Travelling between customer and project sites, including occasional overnight or extended travel

Participating in after-hours and on-call work where required

The positions range from field-based service and maintenance through to highly specialised commissioning roles supporting large-scale, mission-critical environments.

About You

We’re looking for experienced technicians who can bring strong technical capability, a safety-first approach and the ability to work confidently in customer-facing environments. The successful candidate for the role will have the following skills and experience:

Restricted Electrical Licence

Current Australian Driver's Licence

Previous experience as an HVAC, air conditioning, refrigeration, chiller or service technician

Experience with commercial, industrial or mission-critical cooling systems

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities

Knowledge of HVAC controls and networking systems

Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical equipment

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a wider technical and project team

Good computer literacy and ability to complete digital service documentation

Willingness to travel between sites and undertake overnight travel where required

For the more specialised commissioning opportunities, previous experience commissioning precision cooling systems, large industrial chillers or HVAC equipment within data centres or other large-scale critical environments will be highly regarded.
