Essential Air Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician to service and maintain a broad range of equipment across secure facilities in Queensland.

You will undertake regular regional travel and on-site work, with a focus on reliability, reporting and adhering to site procedures. The role offers strong earning potential and long-term, varied maintenance contracts.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• Strong HVAC/R servicing and fault-finding experience.
• Experience with commercial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Willingness to undertake regular regional and remote travel.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to service documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work within secure facilities.

Job description

Essential Air Solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician to join our team.

This role will primarily support our ongoing maintenance contracts across secure facilities, with a mix of local work and regular travel to regional and remote locations throughout Queensland.

The Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing a broad range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including:

• Split, cassette and packaged air-conditioning systems
• Air Handling Units (AHUs)
• Cool rooms and freezer rooms
• Vaccine and medical refrigeration
• Refrigeration equipment and associated controls
• General preventative and reactive HVAC/R maintenance
• Fault finding, diagnostics and repairs
• Completing service documentation and reporting

A significant portion of the role involves working within secure and controlled environments, so professionalism, reliability and the ability to follow site procedures are essential.

The position also includes regular away work, including travel to regional and remote locations. Depending on the contract and location, this may involve multi-day or extended trips away from Cairns.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, dependable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Ideally, you will have:

• Relevant Air Conditioning & Refrigeration trade qualifications
• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Strong HVAC/R servicing and fault-finding experience
• Experience with commercial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
• Ability and willingness to undertake regular regional and remote travel
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to service documentation and reporting
• Ability to meet the requirements for working within secure facilities

Experience servicing commercial refrigeration, vaccine/medical refrigeration, cool rooms, freezers and AHUs will be highly regarded.
