Job summary

Ventia's City of Sydney Facilities Management contract seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse property portfolio. Based at the Alexandria depot, the role offers a stable full-time position with regular hours and opportunities for on-call work.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs on HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical ventilation systems, and complete accurate maintenance records while adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Refrigeration Mechanic with Refrigerant Handling Licence.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical ventilation systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across commercial air conditioning equipment.
• Sound understanding of Australian mechanical services standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and scheduled HVAC maintenance across facilities.
• Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs on HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical services equipment.
• Service equipment ranging from large commercial chillers to smaller air conditioning systems.
• Complete work orders, maintenance reports and inventory documentation accurately.

About The Role

As an HVAC Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across the City of Sydney's diverse property portfolio. Additionally, you'll:

• Carry out preventative and scheduled HVAC maintenance across a range of facilities
• Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs on air conditioning, refrigeration and mechanical services equipment
• Service equipment ranging from large commercial chillers through to smaller air conditioning systems
• Complete work orders, maintenance reports and inventory documentation accurately
• Provide recommendations to improve equipment performance and extend asset life
• Participate in an on-call roster and respond to after-hours callouts when required (approx. every 8 weeks)

About You

• Trade qualified Refrigeration Mechanic with a current Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical ventilation systems
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across commercial air conditioning equipment
• Sound understanding of Australian mechanical services standards and safety requirements
• Current Driver Licence and White Card
• Willingness to successfully complete a National Police Check
