Job summary

ARA Mechanical Services seeks an experienced HVAC Service & Maintenance Technician to support our mechanical ventilation team. The role covers post-construction maintenance, warranty works and DLP across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and residential projects, ensuring installations operate safely and efficiently.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, read drawings and liaise with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

• HVAC service and maintenance experience is required.
• Ability to fault find across mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Strong knowledge of commercial ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical services drawings and documentation.
• Current Driver's Licence and White Card; electrical licence desirable.
• Desirable: Working at Heights, EWP and Confined Space certifications; BMS/commissioning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend and rectify DLP and warranty service calls.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance on HVAC and ventilation systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, controls, and airflow-related faults or supervise the subcontract installers under their warranty obligations.
• Conduct post-completion inspections and system performance checks.
• Service fans, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, smoke control systems and associated plant.
• Liaise with clients, builders, consultants, and equipment suppliers.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and defect documentation.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and site requirements.

This role focuses on post-construction maintenance, warranty works, and Defects Liability Period (DLP) services across a range of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and residential projects. You will be responsible for ensuring our newly completed mechanical services installations continue to operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of commercial ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical services drawings and documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Current Driver's Licence and White Card.
• Desirable: Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Desirable: Working at Heights, EWP, and Confined Space certifications.
• Desirable: Experience with BMS and commissioning activities.
