Job summary

Ambient Services Group is seeking an HVAC Project Engineer to join our HVAC Construction & Facility Services Division in metropolitan Sydney. The role focuses on preparing technical submissions, coordinating mechanical documentation, and ensuring compliance with Australian standards throughout the project lifecycle.

You will support project managers, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and contribute to value engineering and risk management to improve constructability and cost control

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5+ years in Mechanical HVAC Project Engineering or Building Services.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and NCC.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, specs and contracts.
• Prepare submissions, schedules, RFIs and engineering docs.
• Perform equipment selections and static pressure calculations.
• Commercial awareness for risk, VE and constructability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate mechanical submissions for approvals.
• Review contract docs and raise design RFIs.
• Create and maintain equipment schedules for plant, airside, waterside and controls.
• Perform static pressure calculations and verify equipment selections.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC and project specs.
• Assist with design reviews, VE, constructability and cost control.
• Support project team with engineering calculations and documentation.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and issued on program.
