Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. This role sits within the Engineering and Technical Services function, providing preventive maintenance and repairs across facilities.

You will perform mechanical and electrical upkeep, ensure compliance with codes, and support energy efficiency initiatives while coaching team members and upholding CBRE RISE values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred.
• Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for compliance.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge within the function.
• Lead by example and help build consensus within CBRE RISE values.
