Job summary

Control & Electric Pty Ltd is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead electrical, mechanical and BMS projects from planning through delivery. The role emphasizes safety, quality and timely completion within budget, with a focus on collaborative teamwork at our Fyshwick/Canberra base.

You will coordinate schedules, review drawings and provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders, while supporting commissioning and system performance verification.

Qualifications

• Experience managing mechanical, electrical and building automation projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical and building automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent time management, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Self-motivated, reliable and committed to delivering quality outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical, mechanical and BMS projects from planning through to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a quality standard.
• Coordinate project schedules, resources, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Monitor project progress, performance, costs and financial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and company procedures.
• Conduct site visits to oversee workmanship, quality and resolve technical issues.
• Lead client, stakeholder and project meetings, providing regular updates.
• Support commissioning activities and system performance verification.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, variations and handover packages.
• Promote WHS and HSEQ requirements and maintain a safe work environment.
• Support the training and development of team members and apprentices.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Ensure accurate completion of administrative tasks and effective project communication.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and company training.
• Maintain project continuity through effective handovers and leave planning.
