Job summary

Brighton Secondary College in Melbourne is seeking a Classroom Teacher - Humanities to design and deliver engaging learning experiences across key curricula, with emphasis on literacy and numeracy integration and equity. You will collaborate with staff to support student achievement and well-being within a supportive learning environment.

You will monitor student progress, use data to inform teaching, provide constructive feedback to students and parents, and contribute to school improvement

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum with literacy and numeracy integration.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student progress using data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and staff.
• Reflective practice and commitment to professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake related teaching and organizational duties as directed by the principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Engage with school improvement activities and non-teaching duties as required.
