Responsibilities

  • Drive HR strategy and deliver HR services including recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee development, payroll, policy development, and employee relations.

  • Lead annual performance evaluation processes and ensure alignment with corporate practices.
  • Counsel leaders on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions within local laws.

Job Description

The Project HR Director serves as the top HR leader on a project. They lead and oversee all human resources systems, policies and practices including, but not limited to, recruiting and staffing; performance management/improvement processes; employment and compliance to regulatory requirements; development and training; policy development and documentation; employee relations; compensation and benefits administration; and employee safety. This position will also provide counsel and leadership in human resources decisions and act as a liaison for communication of all HR related topics between Corporate Human Resources and their project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership management to drive HR strategy and successfully deliver human resources services such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee development, payroll services, policy development and other HR activities
  • Develop and manage HR budget; analyze budget and submit revisions twice a year
  • Lead the annual performance evaluation and objectives processes and ensure alignment with corporate practices
  • Lead coach management discussions on employee development and corrective action methods
  • Evaluates, responds, and resolves human relations, labor relations, and work-related problems
  • Counsel or coach leaders/employees regarding employee relation issues, including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline, and/or terminations in line with local culture and the business legal environment
  • Provides guidance to Leadership Team on HR related issues to ensure compliance
  • Represents the company for any unemployment claims and EEOC issues, worker’s compensation insurance audits, etc.
  • Manage and direct all Blue-Collar recruitment processes
  • Provide data on HR related activities to the Executive Team on an as needed basis
  • Ensure all HR policy and procedures are kept up to date and legally compliant
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations
  • Collaborate to ensure payroll is completed accurately and timely
  • Manage the maintenance of the permanent personnel records to ensure all regulatory requirements are met
  • Lead and develop Human Resources team to provide exemplary service and support to employees
  • Seek out efficient methods and ways in which to improve areas within the scope of HR practices
  • Serve as the head of culture pioneering for the creation of an exceptional work experience applying our core values from employees’ first interaction with us through retirement

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required, master’s degree is preferred
  • At least 10+ years within the field of Human Resource with a minimum of 3 years holding a strategic management role
  • Must have experience within talent management, organizational design, total rewards, training & development, compliance and employee engagement
  • Experience working with multiple cultures and remote teams
  • Familiarity with state and federal employment laws, guidelines and best practices
  • Human Resources certifications (SPHR/SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP) desired
  • Construction, Heavy Civil, or other related industries strongly preferred
  • Experience leading organizations with at least 500 employees
