This is a high-impact standalone HR role, overseeing the entire employee lifecycle while acting as the first point of contact for all people-related matters. It requires a hands-on approach combined with strategic leadership, ensuring both day-to-day HR operations and long-term workforce planning align with business goals.

There is a significant opportunity to enhance the current HR offering, particularly in learning and development, organisational design, and leadership development. Additionally, with a budget allocated for administrative support, the role will focus on streamlining transactional and operational HR processes.

  • Learning & Development Design and execute programs that enhance employee skills, career progression, and leadership capabilities.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement Act as a trusted advisor, managing complex people matters while fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
  • HR Policy & Compliance Ensure policies align with best practices and employment legislation, mitigating risk and maintaining ethical standards.
  • Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Oversee hiring processes, develop attraction strategies, and ensure seamless onboarding.
  • Leadership Development Guide executives and managers in building strong leadership capabilities that align with organisational values.
  • Compensation & Reward Shape remuneration strategies that drive motivation and performance.
  • Wellbeing & Workplace Safety Promote a culture of employee wellbeing while ensuring workplace safety compliance.
What we are looking for
  • A blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, balancing high-level leadership with detailed HR operations.
  • Proven experience as a senior HR generalist, ideally within an SME and with exposure to software development.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including expertise in complex case management.
  • A commercial mindset, contributing to leadership discussions and driving business success through people strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and advisory skills, with the ability to coach and support the CEO and senior stakeholders.
