Frazer Jones is seeking an HR Generalist for an Australian-based luxury retail business. You will partner with retail leadership to drive people initiatives across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, learning, and compliance.

Reporting to local leadership, you will manage employee data, apply employment law updates, and coordinate annual pay reviews. Prior experience in luxury retail is highly desirable.

Job description

Role Mission

This challenging and fast paced role will see the successful candidate responsible for the full suite of HR responsibilities across the Australian business. Working within a luxury retail environment, the role will partner closely with retail leadership to drive people initiatives, employee engagement, talent acquisition, operational excellence, and compliance across the employee lifecycle.

Main Duties:
  • Manage the recruitment process end-to-end, partnering with Boutique and Retail Management on immediate hiring needs and long-term talent pipeline planning.
  • Coordinate the fortnightly payroll process in conjunction with shared services and external providers.
  • Undertake all Employee Relations activities, including performance management, disciplinary matters, and workplace investigations.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual compensation review process alongside senior business and HR leadership.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction programmes for all new employees.
  • Communicate and implement global HR policies while developing and maintaining local policies in line with legislative requirements.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing employment law updates and workplace regulations.
  • Interpret and apply relevant retail industry awards and employment conditions.
  • Coordinate and drive the annual employee engagement survey process.
  • Manage employee data throughout the employee lifecycle, including contracts, documentation, personnel files, and employment changes, ensuring data accuracy and administrative excellence.
  • Partner closely with local, regional, and global stakeholders to drive alignment and support business objectives.
  • Support and participate in HR projects and initiatives as required.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous HR Generalist, HR Advisor, or HR Business Partner experience ideally within a retail, luxury retail, fashion, lifestyle FCMCG, or consumer-facing environment.
  • Strong operational HR experience across recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award and the ability to interpret terms and conditions of employment.
  • Experience using HRIS, payroll, workforce management, and reporting systems.
  • Experience managing or coordinating payroll processes.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and workplace compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience within luxury retail, premium retail, fashion, beauty, or broader retail environments is highly desirable but not necessary.
