Job summary

Catholic Education Office Diocese of Wollongong - Oak Flats NSW invites applications for a Secondary Teacher to deliver HSIE for Years 7–10. This is a temporary full-time parental leave replacement commencing 28 January 2027 and concluding 24 September 2027.

The successful candidate will teach HSIE, contribute to faith growth and student learning, and support a safe, inclusive classroom environment in a Catholic school setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in HSIE.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

Responsibilities

• The successful applicant will be required to teach HSIE (Years 7-10).
• The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.
