About the role

We are looking for an early-career HSEQ professional who wants to grow into a broad role and make it their own. You will support a growing, dynamic team delivering well services to the oil and gas sector, working from our Brisbane office with ad hoc visits to well sites.

This is a hands-on, developmental role. You will work closely with the Operations delivery team, build practical field experience, and take increasing ownership of our HSEQ systems and training program as your capability grows.

If you are curious, organised and keen to learn how safety, quality and environmental management work at the front line, this role offers genuine scope to shape the function.

HSEQ management system
  • Maintain and continuously improve HSEQ procedures, forms and registers, including document control
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments (JHA/JSA) and management of change (MOC)
  • Coordinate incident reporting, record keeping and follow-up of corrective actions
  • Assist with incident investigations, including ICAM, and track actions to close-out
  • Prepare HSEQ performance statistics and monthly reporting (LTIFR, TRIFR, leading indicators)
  • Support internal audits, inspections and client or third-party audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Assist with client prequalification submissions and tender HSEQ content
Training and competency
  • Coordinate the training matrix and competency records for field and office personnel
  • Schedule mandatory and client-required training (e.g. well control, H2S, first aid, working at heights, confined space, ERT)
  • Track ticket and licence expiries and flag gaps to supervisors early
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox content and in-house training sessions
  • Liaise with RTOs and external training providers
Field support
  • Undertake ad hoc visits to oil and gas well sites to conduct inspections, observations and field audits
  • Coach crews on HSEQ systems and act as a visible, approachable point of contact
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
Compliance and stakeholders
  • Monitor legislative and client requirements (e.g. Qld WHS Act, Petroleum and Gas legislation, environmental approvals)
  • Build working relationships with operations, clients and contractors
  • Contribute to a positive, proactive safety culture across the business
Operations support
  • Support operations teams with administration as required, including job paperwork, permits, timesheets and crew mobilisation documentation
  • Assist with personnel onboarding, site access and client portal compliance requirements
  • Help maintain equipment, inspection and certification records alongside operations
About you
Essential
  • Tertiary qualification (or currently completing) in WHS, environmental science, quality or a related discipline, or Certificate IV / Diploma in WHS
  • 1–3 years in an HSEQ, training coordination or similar support role (graduates with strong placement or industry experience encouraged to apply)
  • Strong organisation and record-keeping, with attention to detail
  • Confident communicator who can engage field crews and management alike
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Current manual driver's licence and willingness to travel to remote sites at short notice
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
Desirable
  • Exposure to oil and gas, mining, drilling or other high-risk industries
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001 management systems
  • Experience with training or competency management systems, or an HSEQ software platform
