Job summary

Sunshine Coast Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced HSEQ / QA Advisor to lead health, safety, environmental and quality practices across projects based in Yandina, Queensland. The role focuses on developing robust management systems, conducting site inspections, and driving continuous improvement to meet regulatory and client requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in a HSEQ advisory role within construction, strong risk assessment skills, and a track record of training site

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as OH&S, environmental management or QA.
• Minimum 5 years in a HSEQ advisory/management role, preferably in construction.
• Proven track record developing and implementing HSEQ systems.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and risk assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HSEQ management systems across projects.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to identify risks and non-conformances.
• Provide training on HSEQ policies and best practices to site teams.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders on HSEQ matters.

Job description

As the HSEQ / QA Advisor at Sunshine Coast Civil Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company's operations adhere to the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards. This full-time position is based in Yandina, Queensland, and will be integral to the company's commitment to delivering projects safely and efficiently.

What you'll be doing

• Developing, implementing and maintaining robust health, safety, environmental and quality management systems
• Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify and address any potential risks or non‑conformances
• Providing guidance and training to site teams on all HSEQ policies, procedures and best practices
• Investigating incidents and near misses, and implementing corrective and preventative actions
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards
• Liaising with clients, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on HSEQ matters
• Continuously improving HSEQ processes and systems to drive operational excellence

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety, environmental management or quality assurance
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar HSEQ advisory or management role, preferably within the construction industry
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HSEQ management systems
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and risk assessment skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in using relevant HSEQ software and data management tools
