Job summary

Gemco Rail Pty Ltd. seeks a proactive HSEQ Coordinator to join the Rockhampton site on a full‑time basis. The role focuses on health, safety, environment and quality systems, including inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations to maintain compliance and promote continuous improvement.

You will work with personnel and leaders to uphold safety culture, manage changes, and deliver training while supporting regulatory frameworks and customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience leading continuous improvement projects.
• Knowledge of rail industry standards and RSNL.
• Experience with incident investigation methodologies (ICAM or similar).
• Familiarity with ISO9001/45001/14001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and enforce safety and quality protocols at the Rockhampton site.
• Conduct hazard identifications, risk assessments and Take 5 training compliance.
• Perform audits, site inspections and calibration reviews.
• Lead root-cause investigations for injuries, near misses or quality issues.
• Establish safe working boundaries for track configurations and yard movements.
• Deliver HSEQ inductions, toolbox talks and emergency drills.
• Monitor environmental waste and emissions and contribute to sustainability targets.
• Adhere to procedures and ensure correct PPE use.
