Job summary

Qube Bulk in Rockhampton is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to provide health, safety and environmental leadership across Queensland and New South Wales, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in mine-to-market operations.

You will lead on-site safety culture, develop risk assessments, support incident investigations, audits and reporting to senior management, and help regional HSE management plans to elevate safety performance across diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• 3+ years' mining or heavy transport HSE experience.
• Industry-specific HSE/management experience.
• Safety qualification from a tertiary institution.
• ICAM trained.
• Knowledge of QLD & NSW Coal Mining Act & Regulations.
• Ability to undertake large-scale risk assessments.
• Ability to lead Regional HSE Management plans.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident investigations as SME and present to Senior Management.

• Provide guidance for incident investigations, hazard management and closeout actions.
• Identify and implement effective HSE initiatives.
• Lead regular HSE reporting to Senior Management.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor who is ready to advance in the next step of their career to join the well-established Qube team based in Rockhampton. The primary purpose of this position will be to provide health, safety & environmental leadership & results-driven support on safety culture, compliance and standards across various Qube operations throughout Queensland & New South Wales.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety leadership and workforce engagement.
• Participate in the development of a comprehensive risk assessments within the operations, providing advice and guidance to operational leaders.
• Assist site personnel in the development of site and task specific risk assessments, operational procedures and work instruction and conduct ongoing reviews of the effectiveness and compliance to risk control measures within a Mining and Logistics operations.
• Participate and advise operational leaders during incident investigations as an SME during, including contributing to the preparation and presentation of the investigation report to Senior Management.
• Conduct site compliance inspections and HSE audits.
• Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans/Programs
• Provide immediate support and guidance for incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on closeout actions
• Identify and implement effective HSE initiatives
• Lead regular HSE reporting to Senior Management.

Qualification & Experience

• Proven capability to engage, influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business, from site-based teams to senior management.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in mining or heavy transport industry
• Previous industry specific experience in a Health & Safety or Management role
• Safety or related qualification from a tertiary institution
• ICAM trained
• Knowledge of QLD & NSW Coal Mining Act & Regs
• Ability to undertake large scale risk assessments
• Ability to lead the development of Regional HSE Management plans.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft word applications
