Job summary

First Nations Jobs is seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join our Energy and Utilities team within the Water business, based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, this role drives safety culture across project delivery teams and partners with operational leaders to embed HSE principles.

The role is a permanent full-time opportunity offering exposure to major water infrastructure projects and the ability to influence safety outcomes at strategic and operational levels.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in WHS as a minimum with further qualifications desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar safety role within water utilities or civil construction
• Strong knowledge of HSE management systems and legislative requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven ability to coach and influence teams to achieve safe outcomes

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote HSE standards across project sites
• Conduct audits inspections and incident investigations to identify root causes and drive improvement
• Support injury management and return to work processes
• Develop and implement HSE Management Plans and risk controls
• Provide coaching and guidance to project teams supervisors and crews
• Prepare and deliver safety reporting and performance analysis
• Ensure compliance with regulatory client and internal requirements

The opportunity

You will partner with operational leaders and frontline crews to embed HSE principles, ensure compliance with legislative and company standards, and proactively manage health, safety, and environmental performance across projects.
