Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities seeks a Zero Harm Advisor for a full-time, residential role in Onslow, WA, operating on a 9-day fortnight. You will mentor leaders and frontline workers to embed Zero Harm standards across site operations.

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, you will promote a proactive safety culture, conduct observations and audits, and ensure compliance with standards and legislative requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of operational safety exposure in a project-based environment.
  • Certificate IV in OHS/WHS.
  • Experience with Health, Safety & Environment Management Systems.
  • ICAM Lead Investigator and/or auditing experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, coach and guide leaders and workers to promote a proactive Zero Harm culture.
  • Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct observations, site inspections and audits.

Our Energy & Utilities team are seeking a highly capable Zero Harm Advisor to join our team supporting the Wheatstone operations in Onslow, Western Australia. This is a full-time permanent, residential opportunity working a 9-day fortnight. Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, you will play a major part in ensuring our Zero Harm standards are embedded across site operations.

The opportunity

Our Energy & Utilities team are seeking a highly capable Zero Harm Advisor to join our team supporting the Wheatstone operations in Onslow, Western Australia. This is a full-time permanent, residential opportunity based in Onslow, working a 9-day fortnight. Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, you will play a key role in ensuring our Zero Harm standards are embedded across site operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for mentoring, coaching and guiding our operational leaders, engineers, supervisors and blue-collar workforce to promote and foster a proactive culture of Zero Harm.

  • Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements across all work activities.
  • Conduct observations, site inspections and audits.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries or breaches of safety and environmental procedures.
  • Manage incident reporting within Downer and client systems.

What we’re looking for

You will be a driven, motivated and adaptable individual who can build strong relationships and positively influence safety outcomes across the operation. We are seeking applicants who are currently based in Onslow, or willing to relocate to Onslow, and are comfortable working a residential 9-day fortnight arrangement.

  • Minimum 3 years of operational safety exposure within a project-based environment or equivalent trade-based experience. Energy, Utilities or Civil industry experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience utilising Health, Safety & Environment Management Systems.
  • Certificate IV in OHS/WHS.
  • ICAM Lead Investigator and/or auditing experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence, communication and problem-solving skills.
