Job summary

Macmahon is seeking a skilled HSEQ professional to provide support at the Nifty Copper Project in WA. You will mentor leaders and crews, implement the HSEQ Management Plan, and drive proactive risk control and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Previous surface mining experience in a similar HSEQ role.
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act (WA) and similar legislation.
• Experience in HSEQ management systems and implementing HSEQ deliverables.
• Qualification in incident investigation methodology, such as ICAM.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and engagement skills.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Current Manual 'C' Class WA Drivers Licence or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring effective implementation and compliance to the HSEQ Management Plan.
• Provide HSEQ Management Systems mentoring and guidance to leaders and workers.
• Assisting with accident / incident investigations, lead and lag indicators as required.
• Facilitating risk assessments to support operations and their ability to control and reduce risks across our activities.
• Maintaining and reviewing site corrective action and hazard reporting processes.
• Completing site inspections and audits in line with the group annual safety planner and site-based activity planners.
• Assisting supervision with the injury management and return to work processes.
• Monitoring the mental health of our people and referring them to the EAP services as needed.
