Job summary

Bluestone Recruitment in Melbourne, VIC, is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support a growing portfolio of commercial construction projects. You will work across offices and active sites, partnering with project teams to maintain high standards of health, safety and quality.

The role requires at least five years in HSEQ or safety, strong knowledge of Victorian legislation, and qualifications in WHS/OHS or environmental management.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in an HSEQ or safety role.
• Demonstrated experience on commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Victorian health and safety legislation.
• Qualifications in WHS, OHS, environmental management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Managers and project teams with all HSEQ requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Assist with project-specific safety, environmental and quality plans.
• Review SWMS, risk assessments, permits and subcontractor documentation.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and manage corrective actions.
• Coordinate inductions, toolbox talks and HSEQ training.
• Monitor compliance with company systems, legislation and client requirements.
• Maintain HSEQ registers, reports and project documentation.
• Support continuous improvement across the company's integrated management system.
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across all projects.

The Opportunity

An established commercial construction business is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support its growing portfolio of projects. Working across both the office and active construction sites, you will partner with project teams to maintain high standards of health, safety, environment and quality. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, improving systems and helping site teams achieve practical compliance outcomes.

• Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 is highly regarded
• Confident communicating with site teams, subcontractors and senior management
• Strong reporting, investigation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
