Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd. is seeking a Safety Advisor for our Rockhampton office to coordinate Health, Safety, Sustainability & Risk Management.

This permanent, full-time role reports to the Safety Manager and focuses on providing expert safety guidance, incident investigations, and system improvements to keep operations compliant and safe. The ideal candidate will have WHS qualifications, experience in incident investigations, and the ability to develop site-specific safety strategies.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification/s in Work Health and Safety (minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety)
• HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (desirable)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
• Minimum 3 years experience in similar role
• Incident investigation and reporting experience

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and assistance to facilitate a safe working environment and ensure that all work practices are in accordance with Company policy and recognised and legislated Work Health & Safety regulations and procedures
• Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance
• Assist in the maintenance and optimisation of the Safety Management System in accordance to Hastings Deering and legislative requirements
• Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations as required
• Coordinate incident investigation, reporting and corrective actions
• Ensure environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
• Develop and implement site-specific safety strategies and initiatives
