Job summary

Qube Bulk is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to lead Health & Safety across Thunderbox mine site in the Northern Goldfields. FIFO from Perth, 8-on/6-off roster, meals and camp accommodation provided.

You will drive safety culture, perform risk assessments, lead investigations and ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires a Certificate IV in WHS, ICAM certification, first aid, and a valid C class license, with strong data analysis and MS Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining or heavy transport.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Lead ICAM Investigations Certification or similar.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (minimum).
• Competency in HSE statistics, reporting and trend analysis.
• Ability to undertake large scale risk assessments.
• Ability to develop tactical and strategic safety plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop or review site induction aligned with Qube requirements.
• Coordinate safety issues, risk assessments and records.
• Undertake audits to verify compliance with legislative and client requirements.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and close-out actions.

• Support incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on actions.
• Drive safety culture, risk awareness and operating standards.
• Assist management of workers' compensation and rehab programs.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing.

The Opportunity

Qube Bulk are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join the Thunderbox operations team in the Northern Goldfields region to provide Health & Safety leadership on safety culture, compliance and standards across all site operations.

The Thunderbox HSE Advisor will provide SHS support & leadership across all site operations to ensure that health & safety compliance, legislation and regulatory requirements are met.

Specific Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of the scope of operations, including mining operations, working environment, current work practices and procedures

• Develop and/or review the site induction with the respect to both Qube and operational requirements

• Assist with the coordination of all functional safety issues including risk assessments, systems development and the maintenance of relevant records and reports
• Undertake audits to verify compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements, client requirements and company procedures
• Lead/participate in incident investigation processes & implement improvement plans where any gaps are identified
• Ensure corrective and preventative actions are identified and monitored for closure within allocated timeframe
• Provide immediate support for incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on closeout actions
• Follow the requirements of the SHEMS documentation including Rules, Procedures and Instructions
• Drive culture change from the ground up on operating standards, risk awareness and safety culture
• Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans/Programs
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, it is essential that candidates have:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position within the mining or heavy transport industry
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent
• Lead ICAM Investigations Certification or similar
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (minimum)
• Competency in HSE Statistics, reporting and ability to analyse HSE data for trends and improvements
• Ability to undertake large scale risk assessments
• Ability to develop tactical and strategic plans to address safety issues.
• Qualified in collecting specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005) – highly regarded
• Ability to be flexible & adaptable to work in a demanding environment
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as be able to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills & ability to communicate with a variety of people
• Advanced knowledge & experience with Microsoft applications
• Proven ability to pick up internal systems (IT) quickly
• Ability to provide a National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
