Job summary

RMS Engineering and Construction in Townsville is seeking a safety-focused HSE Advisor with 3–5 years of HSE experience to join our Townsville team.

You will report to the HSEQ Manager and drive health, safety and environmental compliance on site, delivering toolbox talks, site inductions and incident investigations. Australian work rights are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary investigations into incidents onsite.
• Conduct site prestart meetings, toolbox talks and safety trainings.
• Perform work area inspections and task observations.
• Deliver onsite inductions for direct employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor training compliance and onboarding processes.
• Ensure project procedures and plans are followed onsite.
• Oversee onboarding and defect reporting of plant with the workshop team.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a safety conscious and highly experiencedHSE Advisorto join ourTownsville team.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of HSE experience.

Australian work rights are essential for this position (Citizens/PR only).

A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is the minimum qualification required.

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the HSE Advisor will be required to provide direction and advice to all project team members including assisting in maintaining policies and procedures relating to occupational health, safety and environmental requirements.

Other role responsibilities:

• Conduct preliminary investigations into any incidents onsite.
• Conduct site Prestart meetings, Toolbox talks, safety meetings and training for management, supervisors and other site employees as required.
• Conduct work area inspections, environmental inspections and task observations.
• Conduct onsite project inductions for direct employees and sub-contractors
• Monitor site training responsibilities to ensure employees are compliant with organisational requirements.
• Comply with Subcontractor onboarding processes to ensure the correct onboarding processes are followed.
• Ensure project compliance with procedures and plans whilst onsite.
• Onboarding, monitoring and defect reporting of plant (in conjunction with RMS Workshop Manager)
