Are you an organised HR professional who enjoys solving problems, coordinating projects and finding better ways to get things done?

An opportunity is available for an adaptable HR Operations & Projects Specialist to join a collaborative people-focused team within a large organisation.

This varied role brings together HR administration, workplace relations support, workforce reporting and project coordination. You’ll work with colleagues and business stakeholders to keep people processes running effectively, contribute to business initiatives and identify opportunities to improve the way HR services are delivered.

If you enjoy a role that combines attention to detail with stakeholder engagement, analysis and practical problem-solving, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

What you’ll be doing
HR and workplace support
  • Assist with day-to-day employment matters by coordinating documentation, gathering information and keeping actions on track.

  • Help organise meetings, employee consultations and other workplace activities, ensuring relevant information is prepared and follow-up actions are completed.

  • Support the application of employment policies, workplace agreements and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare written communications, maintain records and assist with workforce-related reviews and organisational initiatives.

  • Keep documentation accurate and up to date, escalating sensitive or complex matters to the appropriate specialists.

Projects and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate people-related projects and business initiatives, monitoring progress, deadlines and agreed outcomes.

  • Work with stakeholders across different locations to support workforce planning and employee-related initiatives.

  • Review workforce and payroll information to identify discrepancies, assess trends and inform business decisions.

  • Develop project schedules, reporting tools, process guides and communication materials.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline administration, strengthen processes and improve service delivery.

  • Coordinate project activities across multiple stakeholders, ensuring issues are addressed and deliverables progress as planned.

HR operations and employee administration
  • Coordinate employment changes, including transfers, changes to working arrangements, temporary placements and employee departures.

  • Monitor important employment milestones and follow up with managers to ensure actions are completed on time.

  • Provide recruitment and onboarding assistance when required, including candidate screening, interview coordination and pre-employment checks.

  • Maintain employee documentation and support requests for information from relevant internal teams.

  • Contribute to the improvement of HR systems, digital workflows and administrative processes.

  • Respond to general HR enquiries, providing guidance on routine matters and referring more complex questions to the relevant specialists.

Reporting and stakeholder engagement
  • Prepare workforce reports and information summaries to support operational planning and business decisions.

  • Analyse employee information to identify patterns, exceptions and areas requiring attention.

  • Present findings clearly and accurately to support effective decision-making.

  • Develop positive working relationships with colleagues, managers and external service providers.

  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and a high standard of service.

What you’ll bring

You’re a proactive and practical HR professional who can balance detailed administration with broader project responsibilities. You take ownership of your work, communicate confidently and enjoy working with different stakeholders to achieve results.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience in HR operations, HR coordination, employee relations, workplace support or a similar role.

  • An understanding of employment policies, workplace agreements and relevant employment requirements.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Confidence working with spreadsheets, employee information and workforce reporting.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience using HR information systems and standard business software.

  • A structured approach to problem-solving, with an interest in process improvement and technology.

  • Good judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Experience supporting a large or geographically dispersed workforce would be advantageous.

Why consider this opportunity?
  • A diverse role combining HR operations, project coordination and workplace support.

  • Opportunities to broaden your experience across different areas of the people function.

  • Involvement in initiatives that improve business processes and operational efficiency.

  • Exposure to workforce reporting, HR systems and continuous improvement activities.
