Job summary

AKD Softwoods, Oberon operation, is seeking an emerging HR professional to join the site leadership team. The role covers recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training coordination and leadership support to help run a large manufacturing operation.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll partner with leaders to deliver practical people solutions, maintain HR records, and foster a positive workplace culture while developing your HR capability in an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR advisory, coordination, or business partner roles.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or related discipline (or working towards).
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confidentiality and professional integrity are essential.

• Interest in helping people and supporting leaders.

We're seeking an emerging HR professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and become part of a site based leadership team. Based at our Oberon operation and working closely with the site leadership team, this is a great opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist who enjoys being hands‑on, building relationships and supporting people leaders to achieve business outcomes.

In this role you'll be visible, approachable and actively involved in the day‑to‑day people activities that keep a large manufacturing operation running effectively. From recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, training coordination and leadership support, you'll play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture while continuing to develop your own HR capability.

About the role

Reporting to the Site Manager and working as part of the broader HR team, you will provide practical HR support across a diverse workforce while contributing to key people initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing advice and guidance to leaders on HR policies, procedures and workplace matters.

• Supporting employee engagement and culture initiatives.
• Assisting with workforce planning, succession planning and talent development activities.
• Working closely with operational leaders to deliver practical people solutions.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a HR Advisor, Coordinator, Business Partner or similar role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (or be working towards completion).
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• A practical, solution‑focused approach and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity.
• The ability to build credibility and influence through relationships rather than authority.
• A genuine passion for helping people and supporting leaders.

Experience within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, forestry or blue‑collar environments will be highly regarded, however it is not essential.
