Job summary

YMCA Geelong is seeking a highly organised HR Coordinator to manage recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and compliance, while upholding The Y's commitment to safe environments for children, young people and staff.

The role reports to the People & Culture Manager and involves maintaining HR records, supporting workforce compliance, producing reports and providing first-line HR support across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Proven HR coordination experience across recruitment, induction, employee administration and HR systems.
• Strong organisational and digital capability, with accurate and confidential handling of sensitive records.
• Knowledge of child-safe recruitment, Victorian Child Safe Standards, safeguarding reporting and how to escalate potential reportable conduct.
• Excellent communication, judgement, prioritisation and ability to work across multiple service sites.
• Ability to interpret policies and enterprise agreement processes while recognising when specialist advice is required.
• Alignment with The Y values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Safety.

About the Role

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you'll coordinate recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and compliance activities, while helping uphold The Y's commitment to creating safe and supportive environments for children, young people and employees.

The Y is seeking a highly organised professional who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely and confidential HR and Child Safety support.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and employee administration processes
• Prepare employment documentation, contract variations and employee correspondence
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
• Support workforce compliance including qualifications, registrations and mandatory training
• Produce HR reports and workforce data to support decision-making

What You Will Bring

• Relevant HR or business qualification desirable; experience in a child-related or community services setting desirable.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current National Police Check (willingness to obtain at the Y’s cost)
• Current Driver's Licence
• Right to work in Australia
