Job summary

Proforce seeks an experienced HR Coordinator to manage the day-to-day HR function across a growing Queensland-based construction and property services business. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll support, and WHS administration, working closely with management and site teams.

You will be hands-on, with ownership across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliant processes and accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an HR Coordinator/Advisor/Generalist role
  • Experience in construction, trades, property, facilities or project-based environments preferred
  • Knowledge of Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and/or EBA environments
  • Strong HR administration and employee lifecycle understanding
  • Exposure to WHS administration and compliance
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisation
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll and MS Office systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly
  • Proactive, autonomous work style
  • HR qualifications (Cert IV, Diploma or equivalent) advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment including job ads, screening, interviews and offers
  • Coordinate onboarding and site inductions
  • Prepare employment contracts and position descriptions
  • Serve as first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries
  • Support probation reviews, performance management and employee relations
  • Assist with disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Maintain confidential employee records
  • Provide payroll support for changes and leave

  • Track licences, tickets and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate WHS administration, training registers and inductions
  • Support WHS reporting and compliance
  • Coordinate apprenticeship administration and RTO relationships

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to join a well-established and growing Queensland-based construction and property services business.

The Company

With more than 40 years of experience across commercial painting, building refurbishment, remedial works and property maintenance, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, professionalism and delivering complex projects across South East Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on and wants genuine ownership across the full employee lifecycle, working closely with management, project teams and employees across a growing workforce.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day HR function across the business.

You will be responsible for coordinating recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, performance processes, payroll support, compliance and HR reporting, while also supporting the administration of workplace health and safety systems.

This is a varied role where no two days will be the same, giving you the opportunity to work across both the corporate and operational sides of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment including job advertisements, candidate screening, interviews and offers
  • Coordinate onboarding, employee inductions and WHS site induction requirements
  • Prepare employment contracts, letters of offer and position descriptions
  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee HR queries
  • Support probation reviews, performance management and employee relations matters
  • Assist with disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Provide payroll support including employee changes, leave and employment conditions
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, templates and documentation
  • Track employee licences, tickets, certifications and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate WHS administration including training registers, inductions, incident records and compliance calendars
  • Coordinate toolbox talks, safety training and site inductions
  • Support the WHS Advisor with reporting and compliance requirements
  • Manage the training calendar and coordinate apprenticeship administration, including RTO relationships, training plans and progression
  • Prepare HR and WHS reporting for management meetings
  • Assist with workforce planning and upcoming recruitment requirements
About You

We are looking for an organised and proactive HR professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and can confidently manage multiple priorities.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a HR Coordinator, HR Advisor or HR Generalist position
  • Experience within construction, trades, property, facilities or another project-based environment is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and/or EBA environments
  • Strong understanding of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes
  • Exposure to WHS administration and compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll and Microsoft Office systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously
  • HR qualifications such as a Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent experience are advantageous
