Job summary

Queensland Government's Department is seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor to support youth services and detention programs. You will provide advice on HR policy and processes, helping ensure compliance with the Human Rights Act 2019 and departmental guidelines.

You will coordinate HR records, rostering and payroll, monitor overtime and leave, and work with centre management on workforce planning and recruitment. Applications remain current for 12 months.

As Human Resources Advisor, You Will Specifically

• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Provide advice on human resources policy and procedural matters and enquiries.
• Coordinate and monitor human resource processes and records and provide advice and support to the Manager Human Resources.
• Collaborate with the Youth Detention Centre's management team to support centre's recruitment and selection processes and records.
• Contribute to ensuring that legislative requirements and Departmental policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to within the centre.
• Oversee the centre's rostering and payroll processes and systems in order to meet operational requirements consistent with the approved staff establishment and monitor the centre's use of staff compared to establishment levels and approved leave management arrangements.
• Provide input and maintain records contributing to the centre's establishment management processes and records.
• Monitor fortnightly schedules of overtime, higher duties and other workforce arrangements and provide feedback and advice to the management team.
• Liaise and consult with the management team on workforce planning issues and liaise as required with operational workgroups on matters of payroll and human resource administrative functions.
