Our workforce is approximately 220 and comprises of a wide range of roles including Chefs, Nurses, Carers, Maintenance, Catering and support staff.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO and leading a small team of two, you will ensure Wongaburra attracts, develops and retains a competent, engaged and compliant workforce. You will partner closely with clinical and operational leaders and be the primary internal liaison with our external HR advisory firm on complex employee relations and strategic matters.

Drive accurate, compliant end-to-end payroll outcomes (wages, superannuation, STP, leave and terminations) so our people are paid correctly and on time.

Lead recruitment (including visa sponsorships), onboarding, offboarding, mandatory training compliance and performance management — building and supporting a skilled, values-aligned team.

Own the HRIS (Employment Hero), identifying ways to get more value from the system so everyday processes are simpler and more efficient for everyone.

Resolve employee relations matters constructively, escalating complex cases appropriately and helping maintain a respectful, supportive workplace.

Keep HR, WHS, rostering and related policies current with legislation, industrial instruments and the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Work closely with leaders and key personnel to proactively manage WHS matters and workers compensation claims, prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our care team.
