Job summary

Women's Community Shelters is seeking a Housing and Accommodation Services Manager to lead the Ashfield site, delivering crisis and transitional accommodation and a community hub that coordinates services for women and children affected by domestic and family violence.

The role requires overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment, guiding staff and fostering partnerships across the sector to interrupt cycles of violence and support clients’ rebuilds.

Qualifications

• Tertiary or Diploma level qualifications in Community Services, Social Work or similar.
• Experience in roles focusing on gender-based violence or homelessness is desirable.

Housing and Accommodation Services Manager

Women's Community Shelters are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced leader to support the operations of our service in Ashfield. Reporting to the Manager Housing Innovation this position will be responsible for delivering a multi-dimensional site which will support women experiencing homelessness due to domestic and family violence. The program delivers crisis and transitional accommodation and a community hub that brings together services to support a best practice service delivery response to gendered violence.

The Housing and Accommodation Services Manager will hold operational oversite of a multi-dimensional service site that will deliver crisis and transitional accommodation responses and a community hub space that will bring together service sector responses focussed on interrupting cycles of violence for women and children, helping them rebuild their lives. The role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, providing support and guidance to the team and building and maintaining partnerships across the organisation and sector.

About you

• Tertiary or other qualifications within the Community Services, Social Work or similar (minimum Diploma Level) or 2 years' experience in a comparative role
• Understanding of Family Violence and Gender Based Violence in a homelessness context
• Experience as a supervisor leading small teams
• Experience managing conflict and challenging behaviours
• Experience coordinating teams within community or accommodation services
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and manage partnerships
• Strong knowledge of trauma informed practice and risk management
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and software operating systems
• Hold a current NSW Drivers licence
• Mandatory Compliance Checks including Working With Children's Check and National Police Check
