Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a Household Living Coach in Sydney to coach, guide and develop staff delivering person-centred care in residential households. You will promote resident choice and independence, and help establish household routines that feel homelike while ensuring safety and quality.

Through education, collaboration and mentoring, you will build confidence and capability in Homemakers and care teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate IV Aged Care or Individual Support + Current First Aid.
• Minimum 2 years' experience leading or supporting teams in residential aged care.
• Desirable Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
• Organised, systematic and disciplined approach to work.
• Sound WHS knowledge and risk management practices.
• Ability to lead by example and foster self-directed teams.
• Demonstrated understanding of health, social or aged care services.
• Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptable and resourceful with Uniting values.

Job description

Full Time – 5 days per week, between Monday to Friday

Position Overview:

The Household Living Coach strengthens person-centred care across Uniting’s residential households by coaching, guiding, and developing staff to deliver high-quality, individualised support that aligns with each resident’s goals, wellbeing, and independence. This role builds the skills and confidence of Homemakers and care teams by promoting a deep understanding of Household Living, including Moments that Matter and Food First.

Through education, collaboration, and mentoring, the Coach supports the translation of principles into everyday practices, with a focus on continuous improvement and reflective learning, building confidence and capability to strengthen person-centred ways of working, promote resident choice and independence, and create household routines that feel responsive, inclusive and homelike. The Household Living Coach ensures care delivery aligns with quality and safety standards, supports effective communication across multidisciplinary teams, and models best practices that reflect Uniting’s values.

• Maintain a high standard of conduct and work performance based on Uniting’s values to promote our reputation with key internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure integration and collaboration across Uniting programs to deliver seamless and impactful end-to-end services with the customer at the centre
• Actively engage and participate in the performance management framework and review processes at Uniting
• Act in a manner which role models, upholds and positively reflects the Uniting values, Code of Conduct and Ethical Behaviour

Qualifications & Requirements:
