Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT in Yamba is seeking a Household Dining Assistant to create a welcoming, clean and comfortable environment for residents. You will work across Kitchen, Cleaning and Laundry services to support meal preparation and service, maintain inviting living and dining spaces, and assist with residents’ laundry needs.

This permanent part-time role is 30 hours per week across four shifts, Monday to Friday, with rosters between 6:30am and 7:30pm. Weekend shifts may be available.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, adaptable, and resourceful in resident care.
• Experience in cleaning, catering or laundry is a bonus.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and dietary requirements desirable.

About Uniting Yamba:

Uniting Caroona Yamba has five separate households, each with between 15–22 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview:

As a Household Dining Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, clean and comfortable environment for our residents. Working across Kitchen, Cleaning and Laundry services, you’ll support meal preparation and service, maintain clean, and inviting living and dining spaces, and assist with residents’ laundry needs. This resident-focused role helps promote choice, dignity, independence, and wellbeing while delivering high-quality services across the home.

This is a permanent part‑time position, working 30 hours per week across 4 shifts, between Monday to Friday. Shifts will be rostered between 6:30am and 7:30pm. Weekends may be available if you are interested.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Food safety supervisor certification (desirable, not mandatory)
• Experience in cleaning, catering, or laundry is a bonus!
• Previous experience in aged care is desirable
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and a passion for preparing quality nutritious meals
• Familiarity with aged care dietary requirements and food safety standards (desirable, not mandatory)
• You’re empathetic, adaptable, and resourceful, with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
