Job summary

Uniting in Marrickville is seeking a Household Living Coach for a 6-month maternity cover. This part-time role is 3 days per week, 8am to 4pm, working with Homemakers and care teams to embed Household Living principles and deliver person-centred care.

You will lead, coach and educate staff, support onboarding and quality improvement, and contribute to a welcoming, homely environment that respects resident choice and independence.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Aged Care (or equivalent).
• Certificate III in Aged Care with Medication Module.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Minimum two years' experience leading and supporting teams.
• Experience using client management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and develop Homemakers and care teams to strengthen person-centred practice.
• Deliver education, training and competency assessments, including mandatory training requirements.
• Support the induction and onboarding of new team members.
• Work collaboratively within the household, providing hands-on support when required.
• Promote resident choice, independence and meaningful engagement in everyday life.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audits and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, organisational policies and quality standards.
• Monitor equipment and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Model ethical leadership, professionalism and a culture of learning and accountability.

About the Role

As a Household Living Coach, you will work alongside Homemakers and multidisciplinary care teams to build capability, confidence and consistency in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Using a coaching and mentoring approach, you’ll help teams embed the principles of Household Living, including Moments that Matter and Food First, creating welcoming, responsive and homelike environments where residents can thrive.

You will also support education, quality improvement, compliance and onboarding while modelling best practice and fostering a positive team culture aligned with Uniting’s values.

About You

You are an experienced aged care professional who enjoys empowering others and leading through coaching rather than directing. You are passionate about improving resident outcomes and creating positive team cultures where everyone can succeed.

You will bring:

• Certificate IV in Aged Care (or equivalent).
• Certificate III in Aged Care with Medication Module.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Minimum two years' experience leading and supporting teams.
• Strong communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Demonstrated understanding of aged care and person-centred practice.
• Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety and risk management.
• Confidence using technology for documentation and communication.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in residential aged care, community care, hospitality or retail.
• Experience delivering education and training.
• Experience using client management systems.
• Additional qualifications relating to dementia care or health body systems
