Job summary

The Reef Hotel Casino Cairns is seeking an experienced Uniform Attendant to manage and care for staff uniforms across all departments. The role emphasizes sewing, alterations, and liaison with hotel teams to ensure quality and presentation.

Ideal candidates will have sewing/garment care experience, ability to operate a sewing machine, and flexibility with shifts in a hotel environment. In-house training and staff facilities accompany competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sewing, tailoring, alterations, or a similar garment care role.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a sewing machine.
• Familiar with housekeeping or hotel laundry environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Distribute, maintain, clean, and control employee uniforms across departments.
• Complete alterations and repairs to uniforms (buttons, zippers, hems).
• Operate sewing machines and related equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels; report damaged or worn items.
• Repair and maintain hotel linen, bedspreads, and textiles.
• Process, wash, dry, press, fold, and store linen per quality standards.
• Apply stain treatment and fabric care.
