Job summary

Crystalbrook Aurora in Canberra invites an accomplished Hotel Manager to join the pre-opening leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will shape guest experience, build operational capability and foster a high-performing culture from day one.

The role requires hands-on, energetic leadership across rooms, F&B, front office and housekeeping, with a track record in luxury or premium hotels. You will drive service standards, staffing, and financial performance while guiding teams

An exciting opportunity exists for an accomplished and ambitious Hotel Manager to join the pre-opening leadership team at Crystalbrook Aurora, our newest luxury hotel opening in Canberra.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a highly visible leadership role with broad operational responsibility across the hotel. From pre-opening preparation through to launch and establishment, you will play a critical role in shaping the guest experience, building operational capability and creating a high-performing culture from the ground up.

The Opportunity:

You will work closely with the General Manager and department leaders to ensure every area of the hotel is ready to operate with confidence, consistency and genuine personality. This will include supporting operational planning, developing procedures, preparing teams, embedding service standards and ensuring the hotel opens with strong foundations for long-term success.

We are looking for a productive, commercially aware and people-focused Hotel Manager who leads with energy, clarity and purpose. You will inspire others through visible leadership, create accountability across the operation and bring teams together around a shared vision for exceptional hospitality.

Creative and forward-thinking, you will be comfortable challenging traditional ways of working and identifying new opportunities to elevate the guest and Collaborator experience. You will balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, remaining closely connected to the day-to-day operation while maintaining focus on performance, culture and continuous improvement.

With leadership experience gained within luxury or premium hotels, you will understand that exceptional hospitality is created through attention to detail, genuine personalisation and consistently strong operational delivery.

You will bring broad hotel operations experience and the confidence to lead across multiple departments, balancing the needs of guests, Collaborators and the commercial performance of the hotel. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you will bring structure, energy and clear direction throughout pre-opening and into establishment.

About you:

• Proven senior operational leadership experience within a luxury, premium or full-service hotel environment
• Strong knowledge across rooms, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage and guest services
• Previous involvement in a hotel pre-opening, major repositioning or significant operational transformation
• A visible and hands-on leadership style that builds trust, accountability and engagement
• The ability to inspire, coach and develop high-performing department leaders and operational teams
• Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of labour, productivity, guest satisfaction and financial performance
• The confidence to make sound decisions in complex, high-pressure and time-sensitive situations
• A creative and forward-thinking approach to improving service, systems and the overall guest experience
• A strong commitment to quality, consistency and operational excellence
• The ability to work collaboratively with the General Manager and broader leadership team
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with guests, owners, partners and Collaborators
