Crystalbrook Aurora in Canberra is seeking a Business Development Manager – Corporate & Government to shape the sales foundation of Australia’s newest five-star hotel. You will identify, develop and convert opportunities, build strong commercial partnerships and drive revenue across corporate markets.

You will lead proactive outreach, manage relationships with customers and internal teams, and travel to industry events to establish the hotel as the premier choice for corporate and government

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, corporate sales, government events or account management within hotels, tourism or hospitality.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify, negotiate and convert profitable revenue opportunities.
• Proactive, self-motivated with the confidence to develop new business and grow existing customer relationships.
• Excellent relationship management with customers, industry partners and senior leaders.
• Strong organisational capability to manage travel, engagements and competing priorities.
• Collaborative mindset to work with Sales, Revenue, Marketing and hotel operations.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Customer-obsessed approach with a commitment to elevating experiences at every opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities to strengthen market share and sustainable revenue for the hotel.
• Conduct proactive sales calls, face-to-face appointments, networking, client entertainment, site inspections and industry engagement.
• Position Crystalbrook Aurora as the preferred destination for corporate and government events.
• Manage customer relationships to drive repeat business and elevate guest experiences.
• Travel regularly and represent the hotel at Trade Shows and on-site engagements.
• Measure success through KPIs and customer feedback.

Join the launch of Canberra's newest five-star hotel, Crystalbrook Aurora, and help shape our sales success from day one.

Crystalbrook Collection is preparing to open the doors to Crystalbrook Aurora, our newest hotel in Canberra, and we're seeking a highly organised, proactive and passionate Business Development Manager – Corporate & Government,who build strong commercial partnerships and drive revenue across corporate markets. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a hotel opening and play an important role in building the sales foundations of Canberra’s newest five-star hotel.

Reporting to our Director of Sales, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities that strengthen market share and deliver sustainable revenue growth for the hotel.

Through proactive sales calls, face-to-face appointments, networking, client entertainment, site inspections and industry engagement, you will establish Crystalbrook Aurora as a preferred destination for corporate and government events.

You will be instrumental in managing our customer relationships to elevate experiences at every opportunity, thereby ensuring repeat business flows. Regular travel and representation at relevant Trade Shows will be part of your day to day, along with on site management of customer engagements.

Success will be achieved through proactive business development and by bringing customer insights to life within Crystalbrook Aurora. Performance will be measured through a defined schedule of KPIs and customer feedback.

About you:

You are an experienced and commercially driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities and converting connections into meaningful business outcomes.

Confident operating as a key point of contact for both customers and internal stakeholders, you bring a polished, responsive and solutions-focused approach to every interaction. You understand the importance of representing a premium brand with credibility and creating experiences that build trust, loyalty and repeat business.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in business development, corporate sales, government events or account management within hotels, tourism or hospitality
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify, negotiate and convert profitable revenue opportunities
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the confidence to develop new business and grow existing customer relationships
• Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers, industry partners and senior leaders
• Strong organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities, travel requirements, customer engagements and sales activity
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with Sales, Revenue, Marketing and hotel operations
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• A customer-obsessed approach with a genuine commitment to elevating experiences at every opportunity
• Experience within a luxury hotel or premium hospitality environment will be highly regarded
