Pullman Cairns International is seeking a reliable Kitchen Steward to join the culinary team on a casual basis in Cairns. This hands-on role supports daily kitchen operations, maintains high hygiene standards, and creates an efficient environment for chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.

The position offers opportunities to develop valuable skills within a professional hotel, with shifts including weekends and public holidays as required by the business.

Qualifications

• We are looking for someone reliable, team-focused, and proud of maintaining high cleanliness and organisation.
• Willingness to contribute to a busy kitchen environment and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation across kitchen, storage and back-of-house areas.
• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, equipment and cookware.
• Clean kitchen equipment and workspaces to food safety standards.
• Support chefs and kitchen team during service periods.
• Assist with preparation tasks and ensure areas are ready for service.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling per hotel procedures.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Support the wider Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth daily operations.
