Job summary

Hilton in Cairns region seeks a Steward to perform general cleaning and operate pot-washing machinery, ensuring a hygienic back-of-house environment and compliance with hygiene regulations and company standards.

You will work with a cooperative team, maintain PPE, and report hazards to the supervisor. The role includes carrying out other duties as directed by Hotel Management to support Guest and Member experiences.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen porter experience is advantageous for this role.

Responsibilities

• Operate pot-washing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment.
• Carry out general cleaning including sweeping, mopping, washing up, and rubbish disposal.
• Keep kitchen and back-of-house areas clean and sanitary according to the cleaning schedule.
• Ensure PPE is used and safety guidelines are followed.
• Observe health, hygiene and safety regulations and report hazards to supervisor.
• Perform any other reasonable task as directed by Hotel Management.
