Job summary

Mater Central Queensland - Rockhampton is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis at its Mackay region facilities. The role involves providing building maintenance to Mater facilities on tasks that do not require a qualified tradesperson, ensuring customer satisfaction and rapid issue resolution.

Salary range: $33.87 - $35.13 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900, plus access to many staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Broad/generalist exposure to a range of Maintenance/Handyman concepts (essential)
• Electrical Test and Tag license (desirable)
• Previous experience in a hospital or large commercial complex (desirable)
• Current Drivers Licence (no restrictions)
• Proactively follow safety policies and procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as self-motivated to work alone.

Responsibilities

• Replacement of lighting lamps and tubes
• Repair or replacement of fixtures and fittings such as toilet seats, toilet roll holders, shower rails, privacy locks, shower heads, noticeboards, glove, sharps and gel brackets
• Test & tag of new patient appliances
• Minor repairs to walls and fittings
• Nurse call handset replacement
