The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a values-driven Support Worker for the Homelessness Stream in Surry Hills. This casual role involves working with clients to build independent living skills and collaborating with Case Managers and Team Leaders to provide holistic support. Reporting to Residential Support Team Leader, shifts may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Salary and conditions align with SCHADS Award Level 1. The role may include 24-hour shift work.

Qualifications

• Cert IV in Community Services or equivalent (required).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Trauma Informed Care Framework (desirable).
• A current NSW Working with Children Check is required.
• Senior First Aid Certificate (preferred).
• A current NSW Drivers Licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support the Homelessness Stream with client-centred care.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and Team Leaders to assess client needs.
• Complete incident reports and follow policies for high-risk situations.
• Identify service gaps and propose improvements to Leadership Team.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance service delivery.
