Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream is seeking a values-driven and proactive Support Worker to provide holistic support to clients at risk of homelessness. Based in Surry Hills as a casual role, you will work with Case Managers to support independence and wellbeing within a structured team.

You will report to the Residential Support Team Leader and assist with incident reporting, risk assessment, and ongoing professional development to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Cert IV in Community Services.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Trauma Informed Care Framework (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support clients to identify and build independence.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and Team Leaders to provide holistic support.
• Complete incident reports and follow policies to address high‑risk situations.
• Identify service gaps and make recommendations for service delivery.
