We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.
Empowering people with disability to live life the way they choose is at the heart of how Life Without Barriers has operated for over 25 years. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and continue this mission. Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. If you’re passionate about inclusivity, respect, and making a meaningful difference, this is the career move for you.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.
You will provide personalised support to our QCSS (Queensland Community Support Scheme) clients within their homes in Toowoomba and surrounds. You will provide supports to people with a disability, illness or mental health condition to maintain their independence and achieve their goals.
This is a casual opportunity with shifts available Monday to Friday, with days and hours negotiable for the right candidate to accommodate school hours and availability. There are no evening or sleepover shifts required. You will be required to travel to support multiple clients each day within Toowoomba and surrounding local areas, so a willingness to travel is essential to this role (you will be reimbursed $1.01 per kilometre travelled while you work).
At Life Without Barriers we consider gender a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 27 (2), (c), (e) and (g) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, and so we ask that only Female applicants apply.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check, QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
Candidates with disabilities who require adjustments to the recruitment process or the application form in an alternate format can visit https://www.lwb.org.au/careers/ for information on our access and inclusion work and how to contact us directly.
Applications close at midnight on Wednesday 21st October 2026.
