Job summary

Silver Chain Group in Parramatta and surrounding areas is seeking a Care Worker to support aged care clients at home. You will perform housekeeping, meal prep, laundry and transport, while delivering compassionate personal care and mobility support.

Requirements include a minimum 3 months in a similar role, a valid Australian driver’s licence with an insured vehicle, and experience with personal care, manual handling, and medications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services to aged care clients (housekeeping, cleaning, meal prep).

We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Parramatta and surrounding areas.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
